Artuvetrin® Therapy is a licensed immunotherapy in Europe. It treats the root cause of the allergy and reduces the symptoms. Artuvetrin Therapy® is tailored specifically to the individual patient. After determining what the dog, cat or horse is allergic to using our allergy tests, the allergy can be kept under control. Symptoms are greatly reduced and potentially eliminated. This therapy has proven efficacy (75%) and safety, and therefore can be given over long periods. Artuvetrin® Therapy works by giving repeated doses of allergens that stimulate an immune response and lead to the build-up of immunological tolerance. It is the only treatment that alters the course of an allergic disease while also controlling the symptoms. Compliance with the allergy treatment plan is key to success, and will accelerate recovery and allergy relief.

Artuvetrin® Therapy is administered subcutaneously at increasing doses and increasing intervals to a maximum of 1.0 ml every 4 weeks. The first dose is 0.2 ml, and this is gradually increased to a maximum of 1.0 ml, with longer intervals between each dose. When a dose of 1.0 ml is reached, after 12 weeks, then a fixed dose of 1.0 ml is administered on a monthly basis. In some cases, this treatment schedule is too fast for the patient. In such cases, it is possible to deviate from the standard schedule.

Allergy is a chronic disease so the treatment must continue for the entire lifetime of the patient. A vial of Artuvetrin lasts 10 months, meaning a new vial of immunotherapy is needed every 10 months to continue treatment and to ensure adequate relief of symptoms.
